The Illiad is still relevant as long as we are in war because it helps veterans deal with loss and many other things. Also, war seems to cause the same effect on people no matter the era and so they can be helped with the same or similar methods which is seen in the Illiad.

After listening to the podcast today, I think that the Illiad does still matter today and there are good reasons that support this idea. One of the many reasons is that it teaches people life lessons, an example I found when reading the Odyssey in my English class is from Achilles and his resistance in fighting. Achilles is too cocky and when he is asked to go to war he refuses to fight because he thinks that it is beneath him, so his friend goes in to fight for him then dies. Achilles is devastated by his friend's Death, teaching him and others that read the myth to be less prideful and cocky, teaching a major life lesson.

After listening to the podcast, I do think that the Iliad still matters in todays society. I still think the Iliad is relevant regarding the ideas and morals of the story/poem. The Iliad presents ideas of war, love, and emotional connection to people, and loss. It helps veterans today to deal with loss and PTSD. This poem/book also teaches significant life lessons and it presents ideas of what brings societies and humans together.

It was interesting to see how Greek Mythology made its way into someones life and made large impact. The connection this vet made to a story with his own life was used to help other heal. It talks about how he made it so that units would now stick together and create bonds instead of being split apart. It also talks about how people back then and their struggles with war and loss and veterans nowadays experience something similar.

I believe that the Iliad still matters today. It may be old, but the messages still carry on today. The themes of pride, honor, and war still apply today, because even though technology has changed, the people are still similar. Also it is useful because it allows us to see the language and style of the Greeks from a long time ago.

I still believe that the Iliad still matters today, because of it's importance in establishing so many of the modern story tropes, and archatypes that we have today: such as hubris, the telling of epics, wit being a heroic trait over brute strength, and so on.

Yes, the Illiad still matters today. It is used in a lot of media for entertainment, it inspires others, and it helps those who have dealt with war cope and come to terms with their emotions. This epic poem is also a part of history, being the only documentation of the Trojan war.

I think the Iliad still matters today because it relates to lots of stories today and carries on lots of messages. It has lots of themes of war, love, peace. It teaches you what not to be when talking about Achilles and letting his friend go out into battle. It connects to lots of people especially veterans because they connect to the story of war and how devastating it can be.

After listening to the podcast I do think that the Iliad is still important today. The story/poem gives a lot of ideas that are still relevant in today's society. There are many ideas that the Iliad represent and include aspects that are still important in today's society. For example, war and love. Within these two ideas there are other aspects that are important as well such as loss and other emotions. Relating to the war concepts of the Iliad veterans of war today are able to relate to the story as they recall their time in war and the emotions that arise from those memories. There are similar emotions between veterans and the story which is a modern example of why the Iliad is still important in todays society.

I believe that the Iliad still matters today people still seem to be reading it for the first time and people have even found ways to use it for other reasons. Such as how the therapist was using the Iliad for the recovery of war heros, people still even read the book to their children as stories. This also gives us insight on the greek lifestyle and writing in schools and even still just studying the greeks. We can also still apply the Iliad to modern day examples such as war.

I think the Illiad is definitely still important today because its a part of the history of the world. Everyone knows about the great trojan horse and how the Greeks infiltrated the great city of Troy. This stories tell us the past and into old battle strategies and relationships of Greek soldiers.

I feel like is still matters today because it's used in our world today for example it helps soldiers cop with what happened on the warfield. This poem is apart of history it is the only evidence that we have of the Trojan war.

the Iliad today isn't really that important today even when we go to war since we have more books about war and what happens today instead of when the Greeks had their Trojan war.

I think people could find connections between the Iliad and other things in current day. However, I don't think it still matters today because the times are so different. Other connections can be found between different things in current day and could possibly mean more.

I believe that it still matters today because there are many concepts that still apply today. The Iliad is referenced today by many people and sometimes the media. It may also help people who have fought in wars cope with what they are going through.

The Iliad still matters today because it is so relatable to today's stories. It relates to all people throughout the world, and can connect to people in different ways. Just like how veterans can connect from the feeling of war and how it can be so devastating. There are many themes that can connect to people in today's world too, including love, peace, and war.

After listening to the podcast I believe that the Illiad is still important to this day because there are a bunch of symbols in it that can still be needed. Like the topic of war, Homer wanted to tell everyone that war is inevitable and it can happen by the snap of a finger. Also, the original heroes journey of going on an adventure that has Strief and struggles but in the end is a good thing.
