He is not hosted well and he is a terrible house guest and he would be a hero to his fellow soldiers, but to the Cyclops, he's a villain and evil. He also only wants to get home and is helped by the gods but also punished by some of the gods.

In the poem itself, the highlight was paced on he flaws and strengths of Odssyeus, negative and positive
The movie focused merely on the positive and the most exciting aspects of the adventure.

In the film Odysseus they didn't really focus on him but did focause on the most exciting parts in his journey and in the book they focused on him and the positives and negatives in his life he learns what it is like to be a human being.

In the video, his host had terrible manners so of course, Odysseus poked the Cyclops hosts eye out. In the film, it talks about how Poseidon got angry at Odysseus for attacking a Cyclops and took it out on him by trapping him at sea for ten years. Athena taught Odysseus intelligence and got him out of many sticky situations. The crew had been disrespectful guests once again on another island and they got turned into pigs. Calypso fell in love with Odysseus and gave him immortality for staying with her.

When comparing the text about the Odyssey and the clip of the Cyclops episode there are many subtle differences that can be found between the two. One of the subtle differences in the size of the oak wood that is used to poke the cyclops in the eye, in the clip the oakwood is almost the size of a tree and in the text, it is no bigger than a stick.

I agree with the above, meaning that I think the movie highlighted the exciting parts that make Odysseus look good, but didn't highlight the negatives as much as the book did. In the book, the author tells it as it is and isn't afraid to share the flaws of Odysseus.

In the text, Odysseus is alone and pokes the giant's eye out with the olive branch, Odysseus has some hero like qualities like bravery and wit. Athena helps Odysseus with the olive branch, Hermes helps him with the ram, but Posiden is mentioned only once that said "Posiden, your father..."
In the film, Odysseus is with a team with many trips of men and women, the women are a manifestation of mothers and that mothers give us life, which is Hera. Posiden is represented by the ocean and raw nature, which challenges Odysseus, to show his wit and bravery. Athena does help him out by giving him the branch, and the people who help him out. Odysseus is a hero but not in the film because he has flaws. bravery has arrogance, wit has lain, having a team has ignorance and being stuck up.

I have noticed that he is either loved or hated by people that interact with him. Using the gods as one example, some love him, while the others want to punish him.

In the film, it showed that the cyclops was not a good host to Odysseus and his men. They then poked him in the eye and ran away. Because of this Poseidon trapped them at see for a long time.

In the book, the focus is mainly on the good and bad characteristics of Odysseus and not what his adventure entails. In the movie, it is clear that his adventure is more exciting and alluring than the lessons that can be learned from his character. Both the film and the book are able to relate Odysseus and his adventure to modern day people by suggesting people who go on adventure are always looking to come back to where they started.

In the book it focused more on the cyclops scene than the movie which focused more on the adventure of odysseus more than anything else. In the movie it is said that for the cyclops being a terrible host Odysseus took the eye of the cyclops. However Odysseus first started to steal from the cyclops, and as he was leaving he called back to the cyclops saying who he was, then the father of the cyclops Poseidon sent Odysseus on a journey for ten years. This is the same as in the book as well but it does have a bit more description than in the movie, and there are a couple differences in the way Odysseus escapes the cave, the movie doesn't fully show that Odysseus steals from the cyclops.

What I noticed was that in the text was that Odysseus is either loved or hated by the people who he interacts with. Then there's other who want to punish him.

The story of the cyclopes is a great example of his quick thinking and intelligence. Ideas of guest/host relationships are being addressed but Odysseus is able to overcome all these relationships and his issues through his cunning.the men strap themselves to the bottom of sheep to leave while a few of them escape through the side and others are killed in the process. These stories were similar but all together different from each other.

i noticed in the film he was not a good host but in the book he was a better host also in the film they where super smart while talking to the cyclops becuse he doesnt say anything about them they lie to him. but in the book i feel like he wasent a smart

The story of the Cyclops shows how the wit of Odysseus allowed him and his men to escape. However, the expectation during this time was that the guest should be gracious and thankful to his host, and Odysseus was definitely not this. He stole the cyclops food and stabbed him in his only eye, which jeopardizes the guest host relationship. Odysseus paid for his crimes at the hands of Poseidon.

In the film, they focused mostly on the exciting parts of his journey. The journey requires all background for how they got there and what they were able to do after. I saw that the cyclops was a terrible host, and Odysseus was a terrible guest. I think that the guest host relationship is one of the most important relationships in their time, which allows all people to be kind to each other.

The Cyclops story in writing was slightly different than the cyclops in the film. In the story, it was more clear where the gods came in (Apollo's wine, the olive wood, etc.) The travelers unbalanced the guest/host relationship by coming in uninvited and stealing the cyclops' food. Even though the cyclops is a monster of sorts, the soldiers were too prideful to just take the food and run. They felt the need to stay and he pays the price for it in the end.

In the video about the cyclops it shows that people, even from back then, can still be very clever and always think around the normal things they think of. They also make the cyclops mad and never reveal his actual name because the cyclops still has a brain.

In the Video Odysseus is very smart and he is a quick thinker. At first he acts as if the Cyclops is his friend by offering him gifts and being really nice to him. But then he stabs him and gets out by having the cyclops open the big stone that was blocking the entrance. Odysseus at the end, had to yell his name to the Cyclops so he knew who tricked him because Odysseus had lots of pride and wanted to be known.

The film focuses on the action while the book focuses on what makes Odysseus heroic or not. The book focuses on the meaning behind the acts while the movie shows the acts.

the books has odyseeus and his men ride out on the cyclopes's sheep allowing for an easer escape. in the poem/novel the other cyclopses come to help but the play of words causes the other cyclopes to not help and they win exept they taunted.

In the film the people use wool covering their backs instead of actually riding on the sheep. In the video the cyclops eats one person and only drinks one cup of wine and in the book he has two of both.

Odysseus and his gang tried to trick the Cyclops but in the text, they prayed for Athena's assistance in fooling the one-eyed giant. In both the text and the film Odysseus makes the Cyclops drink potent wine and told him his name was nobody. After the Cyclops fell asleep, Odysseus stabbed his eye out. And then after all that, the men snuck away while tied to sheep.
