As George Lucas talks about, there is a mythology context that he tried to put into Star Wars. I think I will start thinking about the mythological motifs while looking at or thinking about fictional stories/other movies. It makes me think about how although they may not directly be connected to Greek Myth, there is some type of motif connecting to Mythology of some sorts.

A lot of evil characters have horns and it is something that you see in all cultures not just greek mythology. The series has almost created its own mythology as they have stories for backgrounds and there are higher ups and other things that follow the standard for mythology. Greek myth is almost like the heroes journey with how it all has a beginning and an end and its the same way with our everyday life

Natalia-
Star Wars and greek mythology are similar because of the good and evil and as humans we can choose which one. There are underlining similarities as greek mythology but in a modern sense. There are things in Star Wars that have more power than humans and are good and evil just like the gods have more power over humans. Some of Star Wars costumes came or were inspired buy cultures around the world and greek mythology is based off of greeks culture. in Star Wars the evil character competing with Darth vador has horns and so does the evil characters in greek mythology. you find out at the end that Darth Vador is the father of all and in greek mythology zeus is the father of all and they both have the most power. The movie Star Wars has a lot of mention to mentors and in greek mythology the gods make mythology.

Like in Greek mythology there is good and evil as well as the mortals and the people who are seen as better than the rest and more powerful. The force can be seen as a religious figure, as well as other aspects of the film can be seen as many different religious references.

There is greek mythology in Star Wars because it shows the hero's journey through Luke, and it represents the challenges and choices people have to make in life, just like greek mythology. Some patterns I see regarding Greek Mythology and Star Wars are that the heroes need help in their journies, heroes need to overthrow or defeat their father, everyone is selfish, and both Star Wars and Greek Mythology can be compared to literature and life. In other subjects, I will try to connect Greek Mythology to the things I'm learning because Greek Mythology, or at least the themes of Greek Mythology are everywhere. I find it interesting that Greek Mythology is the basis of all our stories. Before I took this class, I thought Greek Mythology was just made-up stories. Now I know that you can find Greek Mythology anywhere, and it represents our lives.
