It always blows my mind just how old the Greek civilization is that it existed during the same time period as Babylon. It also blows my mind how such a small nation could exist for so many thousands of years and have so many different eras and time periods.
I think it is very interesting about how the Greeks could hold off the Persians. I think in some ways we need to look back to look forward because of the whole history repeats itself thing.

They were the first highly civilized community.Past philosophers were the most knowledgeable peoples in their home city. The spartans did not care for education and science they put their efforts into being the strongest military force there was.
Greek mythology, culture, history, and philosophy had a huge effect on America and how we turned out. They created the democracy that we use in the US, as well as many other countries use. We need to look back to look forward in our world because Greece provided a lot of the framework for our modern world. They created many technologies that have progressed to create many aspects of our world now and many other things. Greece really set a precedent for many countries and civilizations that came after them.
I think that we should look back on our history because the Greeks gave us so many ideas and inventions that we have improved or still use today. The Greeks were a very advanced civilization so I think that looking at what they did is very important to moving forward today.

I didn't realize that there were many wars and battles fought before things settled into what we know now. I didn't really have any prior knowledge of Greek mythology so this was a cool fact to learn. I feel that it is always important to reflect on history to improve and move forward. Looking back in time can prevent previous mistakes from happening again.
I think it is very interesting how in history we always try to conquer one another. But I think it is impressive that the greeks were able to stop the Persians.
I think we do need to look back to look forward in our world, because Ancient Greece has influenced so many things in Today's era, Democracy, even things like architecture. Our world today is highly influenced and based of of ancient greece. -Josh Wilson
I think it is interesting how mythology and culture have influenced today's day and age. They influenced our technology, inventions, and ideas. Greece set a good example for many cultures and civilizations today.
