For Psyche and Cupid, Cupid trusted her to never look at his face, "I will give you protection and my love all I ask of you is the vow to never look at me." The ask seems possible but in a way deceiving. After all, she is human and bound to wonder what he looks like. If he doesn't trust her looking enough to let her look at him, why does he expect the same trust? Trust is the foundation of all relationships, yet he hides his identity for a long time until she realizes who he is. It's almost hypocritical of him to expect full and utter trust when he can not show her the same.
After reading the myth of Cupid and Psyche I now realize how much this story affected relationships today. Trust in a relationship is very important most people often refer to it as the foundation on which love grows from. In this story Cupid trusted Psyche and when she broke her promise by looking at his face Cupid felt betrayed."Oh foolish Psyche, is it thus you repay my love?..." Psyche did the one thing Cupid asked her not to do, he felt his trust was broken. This is very similar to the way humans react today when they feel that someone they love has broken their trust. In a way this story teaches us that for you to trust someone they need to be able to trust you. You can't expect someone to trust you when you don't trust them.
The myths main message is that trust t=is the foundation of a Revelations and when the trust is broken the relationship must be fixed in order for it to be successful. However, Psyche had the right to want to know what her husband (cupid) looked like and who he was. Not knowing who someone truly is in a relationship can be problematic because if there is no communication, and openness in a relationship trust cannot be built therefore the relationship cannot last. Even if Psyche knew who he was but did not know what he looked like the outcome is the same because cupid did not trust her with what he looked like and was scared of what might happen since she is human and he is a god.
When reading of Cupid and Psyche I think about how much trust had to come from both sides. Cupid had to trust that Psyche would not look at his face(which she had broken) he then had to trust her enough to give her a second shot after initially breaking her trust. I think this gives a good view into how trust should work in a relationship today. Even though she should have been allowed to look at him she should have respected his boundaries and not looked. I feel that he trusted her but that she had to rebuild the trust after it was broken the first time, sort of as a redemption. Another point I think that this gives to real relationships is that the road to redemption is not always an easy one but it is worth it in the end.

I think trust is the foundation of any relationship which is why it was natural for Cupid and Psyche to have immediate trust with each other. Both of them had to trust the other because it was the only way that their relationship would work. Cupid had to trust that Psyche would keep her promise and not look at his face, while Psyche had to trust Cupid and believe that he had a valid reason for not showing himself. Although Psyche broke her promise, Cupid trusted her enough to give her another chance which led to them working out. Cupid was able to see how much Psyche cared about their relationship even after she broke his trust which I think may have led to him giving her another chance.
The greek myth cupid and psyche show that trust is essential for all relationships because cupid trusted psyche not to look at him and to stay in the shadow and just to trust him. When psyche brook this trust their relationship was broken. But this story also shows how trust can be regained but it takes a while and is very difficult. Psyche got her trust back by going into the underworld and getting the box. Once She gained there trust back there love is stronger than ever, showing that when love is tested and trust wins relationships grow.
I feel that trust is the foundation of every kind of relationship. Even if trust is broken, it can be regained at a high cost. It takes a lot more to rebuild trust then how easy it is to destroy it. I think that Venus' tasks to Psyche hold truth to that because they were so difficult and required a lot more effort to accomplish then how Psyche broke her trust with Cupid by only looking at his face.
Cupid and Psyche shows that relationships are built upon trust and that trust is one of the biggest foundations of a relationship. This is shown when Psyche gets the ultimatum that she can't gaze upon Cupid's face and how Cupid takes it seriously when she ends up letting curiosity get the better of her. Psyche got the trust back by doing tasks so she could be with him and this caused their relationship to grow as it had been tested and they had gone through the test successfully.
This myth strengthens the idea that trust is the foundation of relationships, this is shown in the relationship between Cupid and Psyche. Trust came from both ends of the relationship, Cupid had to trust that Psyche would keep her promise and not look at his face while Psyche had to trust Cupid in return (in the sense that there was a valid reason behind him not showing his face). Although Psyche did end up breaking her promise, Cupid had enough trust to give her another chance, although she did have to rebuild the trust after breaking the promise, this ultimately led to them working out in the end.
In the Psyche and cupid myth the main message was trust. It talks about how trust is the key to maintaining a relationship, like when cupid says to psyche "I will give you protection and my love all I ask of you is the vow to never look at me." and when psyche fails to follow these rules and brakes cupid's trust cupid leaves her. However in the same story it also talks about how trust can be repaired through hard dedicated work like when psyche follows venus's orders to win back cupid.
The myth shows that trust is needed to maintain a relationship. After Psyche broke the trust in that relationship by discovering her lover's identity, Cupid temporarily ended the relationship. After this, Psyche went through some daring tasks, and Cupid once again trusted her enough to retain the relationship. Cupid saw how Psyche persevered through these tasks, and found she wanted the relationship enough that she risked her life to retain it.
Cupid and Psyche myth is about trust and how easily that can be broken. All Cupid asked of Psyche was for her not to look at his face, but Psyche broke his trust. Cupid then runs away thus punishing Psyche for her foolish actions. Psyche goes on an adventure (going into the underworld to collect a box of beauty) in order to prove her love to Cupid and regain his trust showing how while trust can be lost, it can be regained through actions and proving ones worth. Cupid and Psyche relationship was built on trust, the trust that Psyche would not look at Cupid's face and that Cupid had a valid reason to keep his identity hidden from her. Trust in the foundation and without nothing can be built.
I personally believe that the myth behind the union of Cupid and Psyche is in a way, a reflection on how "blind" that love can be. We see Psyche being demonized for being beautiful by the goddess of beauty herself, but Psyche's beauty is so great that not even Cupid could resist falling in love with her. The fact that for most of their relationship, Psyche could not see him. It was pure faith and unadulterated trust. I believe that all relationships emulate this model in some way, be it metaphorical or literal. We all go in blindly, not exactly knowing what we're getting ourselves into. Sometimes we have a beautiful God in the shadows, but sometimes we do have a terrifying monster as well.
In the Myth, Cupid trusted psyche to never see his face, so when psyche did see cupids face she broke his trust which temporarily ended the relationship. However once the trust was regained, the two were stronger than ever relationship wise. Personally if someone ever breaks my trust I would be super super hesitant to retry a relationship with them because what says they won't do it again.
in the story, the whole relationship of cupid and psyche is built off of trust. cupid specific orders were to trust psyche to not look at his face. this was a test for psyche to know if he could trust her or not. when she broke his trust by looking at him in his sleep. this broke the relationship apart. I think this is very accurate and applies to real-world relationships because if you cannot trust a partner you cannot be in a long term relationship.
This greek myth related to many more things than trust. It also touches on curiosity and doubt. We got the phrase "curiosity killed the cat" from this story, meaning that if you are too courious you may get lost in your mind and forget about reality. The greeks didn't want this because they had very strong beliefs that were not commonly opposed. Also, this story has to do with jealioucy and how it can drive you too do unjust things or make stupid disitions. Trust realtes to all of this becasue all of these emotions are supported by trust. And you can't always trust everyone even hoe credible they may be. This teaches a good life lesson about trusting anyone, not even voices in your head, in this case.
I think that trust us very important to keep a healthy relationship and it can help make a relationship last. The myth shows that sometimes people mess up and do something wrong but if they learn from that and don't do it again then they can always forgive them and still love them.

From the beginning Cupid had to trust Psyche to not look at his face as well as Psyche had to trust cupid to protect her. But when Psyche looks at his face their trust was broken, and it was difficult for Psyche to regain his trust. She had to go through a series of tasks by Venus, one of them at which she had to go to the underworld. After she completed this task, Psyche regained Cupid's trust. Cupid knew that she cared for him because of what she would go through to be with him, therefore trust was regained, and they continued their relationship.
I believe that the myth of cupid and psyche and the message it sends should be heard by every relationship today. This is because it talks about trust, making mistakes, repent and forgiveness. WIth how Cupid was supposed to never be seen, it would prove a trust for Psyche. How ever she made the mistakes of looking. Eventually even after lying, Cupid forgives her. THe message is that that you an trust your partner even through mistakes. It does not matter if they mess up, because when the do ( because everyone does), their should be forgiveness and readiness to fix the problem and move forward.
Cupid expects Psyche to trust him and allow himself to trust her even though they had just met and Psyche doesn't know what he looks like. Psyche vowed to not look at him but the trust between those two are weird. How are you supposed to trust what you don't know? When Psyche broke the vow he said that she could only be forgiven at a high cost. Even though they both show that trust is essential for relationships, to work cupid had to trust psyche and when it was broken Psyche had to show she could be trusted.
Trust is one of the key things in a good relationship. Yet when they are broken it will take great lengths to gain the others trust back some times you cant even regain their full trust it really depends on the pearson.Tho pure Trust is also a thing that is rarely seen in the modern world. Today you would mostly see vary light versions of it.
After reading the myth, "Cupid and Psyche" I realized that trust is the foundation of relationships. Within Cupid and Psyche's realtionship there was no trust. If Cupid can not trust Psyche to see his true self how could she trust him? I feel that there was no trust in their relationship from the start. I think trust can be found or regained but there are high stakes. Psyche had to go through many hardships to get Cupid to even come back. I think she established her trust to him by overcoming all of these hardships.

The example that I will pull from the myth Psyche was going to the underworld God to give the box of something to her, but when she comes back she opened it. Cupid was like I am going to forgive her and went to go get her before something terrible happened. That has to be a form of trust and love to save her from something that.
Cupid sees trust as his gauge of how loveable someone is. Even though he was beautiful he made sure that Psyche only loved him for him and not his appearance. When she loses his trust he still gives her a chance to gain it back. This tells us that Cupid has a spring outlook on his giving out of trust.
The story of Cupid and Psyche shows that one of the main keys to having a good relationship is trust, but it also shows that blindly following oneantoher is also damaging and toxic as well. It shows that if you are not completely transparent with your significant other than it can lead to a situation of distrust on both sides of the spectrum. When Cupid told Psyche that she was his wife, but she must never know his face, that sparked a glimmer of doubt in her. From her perspective, yes, it was romantic, but at the same time some stranger came along, told her want to do, and all she knows is that he is now her husband, said to a monster from the oracle from the her visit with her parents. She is under the influence that she is married to a world shattering, serpent creature, of course she would be curious to see if that was true. Her curiosity took over and she cold stand it anymore, so yes, she disobeyed the only le but at the same time she was probably terrified at this point from her thoughts. She probably felt cornered and wanted to know the truth. In my opinion, it was really all Cupid's fault for not being honest. What did he even gain from keeping his identity a secret rather then to start drama in the futre.

I know that she eventually regained trust after going through all those hardships but theres no way she gained all of his trust back.
In the myth, trust is essential and/or a requirement to their love in a huge way, in that Psyche is trusted by Cupid to not look at his face. In their relationship, they seem to lose some form of communication between them because she cannot look at her husbands face. In regular relationships, trust is essential for a healthy relationship and without that, can't last forever like in the Cupid and Psyche myth.

In the myth their relationship changes and Psyche is wanting more, and that more is to see his face. Once she looks at his face his trust in her is gone. The myth to me says that in a relationship you should trust someone blindly, but if curiosity or other emotions get in the way, that trust can be hindered.

If trust is not the basis of a relationship, there will always be doubt and miscommunication between partners. The myth also proves that trust can be regained. Psyche made a mistake by looking at Cupid's face, but she regained his trust and love by carrying out many dangerous tasks. Overall, the myth proves that trust is essential to a healthy relationship, but if trust is lost it can be regained if enough work is put in.

After time he eventually trusted her again.
