So much of what happened contributed to mythology that is both true and untrue but it led to them becoming more sophisticated and proud of themselves.

In the video it talks about all the violence and conquering throughout time which could directly correlate to the mythology created.

I think it was really interesting that although they had many many citizens,s they excluded the majority of the people. Women, slaves, and migrants didn't count as citizens and so although in truth the city would have been huge and crawling with people, the numbers looked quite small because the native men were the only people being counted as well as being allowed to participate in democratic affairs.

There are many things that probably aren't true but it's cool to think about. I personally think we shouldn't believe everything the video said is true but some of the factors made our world what it is today.

i think its very interesting that the greeks were so dominating over other places, and i find it odd that they kind of just..stole whatever they wanted from culture to items...its a lot like modern day though, so many places just adopt whatever culture they like and run with it

So far it seems like the Greeks were pretty advanced for their time in terms of culture, ideas, militaries, etc. I think it's important to look to the past for our future because learning about others victories and mistakes helps us learn what to do or not to do.

I think this video helps to highlight the fact that history is always changing and revising as we advance and discover more about our past. The part about Crete having 3 story buildings they built themselves I found very interesting.

I thought the culture of Ancient Greek seemed a lot freer and architecturally unique. I think that it's important to know/learn about the history of Ancient Greek and its geography, myth, etc. so we know what has changed over time, and how pieces of Ancient Greek culture are used in the modern day.

I think it's crazy how many different cities they had all scattered around throughout that area. Also, a lot of history in Greece was what many myths were based on.

It is important to learn our history weather it's their beliefs, customs, or actions. By learning about the past we can better understand the present and prepare/navigate the future.

The things that happened correlate with mythology because without this history they wouldn't have been able to make these concepts.

I think it is very important to look back to understand more about ideas, something that is especially important when we try to study mythology. The only way we can truly understand Greek mythology is to look back at the time in which the myths were made. We have to study their culture, geography, and history in order to best understand why and how they formed these stories. The same thing can also be said in reverse as we can observe how Greek culture revolved around religion.

I think it's really cool how much the greeks thought of creating to make them a better or more dominant power of the main cities of ancient Greece. It's also really cool to see that the Greeks didn't have a big ruling power in their towns and it's more of a big get together of lots of people. I think that the greeks were the best thing to happen to the world because if we didn't have the Greeks we wouldn't be where we are today.

Strictly based on what I viewed in the video, I can infer greek culture was largely based on which civilization of greeks held power. It was a constant struggle between different groups of people to decide who was better, and who got to hold the land/ the power overtime.

I think that analayzing the history of Greece helps explain the mythology and why it came to be. As an ancient civilization, the greek people did not have the knowledge to explain many things, hence why they often turned to mythology. The culture and geography of Greece was often incorporated into the stories of greek mythology. - Leanna

some mythology was just misunderstood events

If we look backward then, it feels impossible to move forward because we don't want to make the same mistakes that the people before us did. The greek culture is one of a kind just like everyothther culture. I would be hard to forget about something like this that has taken up centuries of the wold.

I learned from this video that greek mythology many different eras, with few in complete peace. they were inventing many great new things that we use today, I learned that sometimes you do have to look back to look forward. I'm not sure if this correlates with this but we do have to look back at greek times to learn new stuff how we can go on

It amazed me to think that the Greeks were never united as a civilization at any point, even during the Persian War. I always thought that after that, the different cities came together and united as one, with Athens as the capital and rivalry from Sparta. I also had never heard of the Dark Ages before in Greek history. I never would've thought that because the Greeks were taken over at one point by an outside force, the currency, writing, and architecture would all be lost for hundreds of years. This would definitely explain why the Greeks never came together as a supremely advanced civilization in the time of Ancient Greece.

I thought it was interesting how many people died in the war on both sides because the Greeks had 153 deaths but Persians lost 5000 it just shows how powerful the greeks were.

What happened in the past has been carried into the modern world today, there's no way we can't look forward without looking back because there's so many references to greek mythology and history they without the knowledge of what they mean would make us confused, or not even notice, even though the stories are fake or have been twisted from the original form they still exist and make impacts one people.

We owe a lot of our modern day culture and basic principles to the Greeks. We got the alphabet, the idea of currency, the idea of democracy, and much more from the Greeks. I think that looking back would help to look forward in our world because so many of the key principles that have already been established came from the past and have just been built upon and improved over time.

I think it is interesting how the greeks would take over other places to get more power. I also think it is interesting that instead of bringing their own culture when they would take over, they took things like other culture and contributed it to what they did.

After watching this video, it's clear that looking back greatly improves on looking forward in terms of history and mythology. For example, in Greece, we can see how wars were won and how much land was conquered. We can also observe Greek Mythology and get a sense as to how things such as man's creation or weather were explained back then without as much knowledge as we have today.

After watching this video it opened my eyes to the before myths. After just watching the history and how the Greeks came to be it gives me a sense of knowing the why behind those myths. Looking back at the past is a good way to make sure there is no repetition in the future. The language and fighting were passed down for a long time to then be renewed by the Greeks. Then the myths passed down all the way to the present time.

The evolution of the greek culture is vast and complex like any, but the way they have dealt with the changes throughout history is what makes it interesting. Geography played a big part in its history due to the close proximity to each other and the need to cultivate crops. This caused migration to neighboring lands and fighting with them as well. The struggle for power is prominent in any history but in this particular region, it is a big part of ancient greek culture. The tyrants taking over the helot lands created things such as certain disciplines and festivals. It is amazing how we know so much about this "world" but still can decipher many of the manuscripts of that time, I am curious to see what knowledge might those writings hold.

I think that in Greek history and mythology it is important to look at all the factors of society. We take history for example and there is a lot to be learned in the event of wars, strategy, construction, power, and thriving and if we look at history and that we can try to learn from what they did right and wrong. In the fact, on geography there are things we can learn to, like who, where, and how they conquered and why. Culture and myth defiantly intertwine a bit but it's important to look at both and see what they did and why they did it

I think it's kind of tricky because there are a lot of things out there that can be true and untrue. I think in some scenarios it is a good thing that we look back because by learning about the history of our past we can better understand our present and prepare for what could happen in our future.

I think it's very interesting how the video explains how things changed over time. The Greeks had taken power throughout history and that made things changed dramatically.

After watching the Ancient Greece video i think its cool to think about but not how it really way. I think it is interesting to learn about but we dont need to look back to look forward in the world.

Although they had a lot of good ideas and they had a successful was of life we do not need to look back to move forward. We are living a different life than they did.

I have always known of greek mythology, but I really had no idea how much influence it has had, not only on Ancient Greece, but also modern culture like music, film, and writing.

The common mistake about greek mythology is that it's all fake or all myths. But the reality is that even though there are a lot of myths, greek mythology has truth though. For example, music is a big influence in mythology just as it is in the real world. Hip hop star relate to their audience by singing in relation to their troubles.

Mythology may be about myths but it also has a lot of history tied into it. I think we do need to look back to look forward so we can learn from history and not make the same mistakes and to create a better future. I think that Greek Mythology influenced the future a lot by creating and dominating things in the past that the world and Greece today would not be the same without it. I also think that Greek Mythology in this video talks about them dominating and taking over many places and adapting to the new cultures, and this of course changing history.
