What is your reaction to the Cupid And Psyche myth's proclamation

Eros and Psyche's lesson is that living absent trust means living absent love. I believe that this is true because Psyche chose not to trust Eros about his appearance, thus forgoing her chances for true love. I think Psyche was foolish to sabotage something as rare as true love just because she was curious about something as superficial as appearance. Knowing that Eros loved her should have been enough to fulfill her and that's where the trust element of a relationship is most important, because without trust, Psyche's love was almost lost forever.

I was shocked after I read the Cupid and Psyche story because Cupid didn´t let Psyche see him, and when she did look at him it was seen as a betrayal. I think that although Psyche snuck a look at Cupid, she shouldn´t have trusted him because he didn't´ let her look at him. I was also surprised that Cupid left Psyche because he wanted her so badly at first. I was kind of annoyed because when Cupid left Psyche, she had to go down to the underworld and possibly get killed.
I think that trust was super important in the story because cupid and Psyche were "madly" in love for an extended period of time because they both trusted they would be taken care of and so would their needs. But when Psyche went into Cupid's room at night to see what he looked like after she promised not too she ruined their relationship because that trust was broken. She did everything she could to try to prove that it was just a mistake and to prove she still loved him by completing those tasks, So even though the trust was lost it was also regained.
Personally I think it's a good myth. I agree with some of the things they said but I also disagree with some of the things they said. For example, when Psyche kept disobeying everything she was told, I understood why Cupid left her. He didn't feel like he could trust her because she never did anything right. However, I do not agree with when Psyche was not allowed to see Cupids face. With relationships you need to give your all to the other person so they can give their all to you. Also something about this relationship doesn't seem stable to me but after Psyche realized that she messed up she tried to fix it, which is good. Also true love will always lead you back to one another even if you're mad or upset. All in all I liked this myth about Cupid and Psyche.
I really enjoyed the story, I liked how in love Cupid and Psyche ended up being. At first I thought it was ok just because we learned all the things Psyche did for Cupid. She than was really able to find her self and grow and become stronger throughout the story. I really enjoyed the story line because I think it really does show true love just because they ended up being together in the end and that is I think the main lesson. True love can never keep you apart depending how mad you are at each other. Not to mention how their relationship grew and the thrust Psyche had for Cupid.

I think that the relationship between Cupid & Psyche was one that was started, only to fail. Trust is necessary for a relationship to succeed, without it there are hurt feelings and other issues. So, by keeping secret his identity from Psyche, Cupid created mistrust within the relationship. However, after the mistake that Psyche made by trying to find out what Cupid looks like, she goes to the ends of the universe to fix their love. Because if both people truly care about a relationship, and put their all into it, it will succeed. Overall, I enjoyed this myth and the depth of the story.
The relationship was doomed to fail at the start because its not love if the other person doesn't love you for who you are and not who you pretend to be. Because Cupid never showed himself to Psyche she couldn't really love him for who he was. Cupid didn't trust Psyche to know who he was really and so she could only love him for what he was saying and how he sounded. They didn't trust each other so they couldn't put faith in each other.
I feel this story tells that trust is everything in a relationship, Psyche didn't trust cupid since she didn't know what he looked like, but cupid trusted her until she wanted to see cupid's face. It seems that without trust your relationship will fall.
