After watching that video I now think that Greece is different for every person and they can imagine it in different ways as well, interpret it in different ways which would change the impact it has on the world for every person.

Studying the Greeks in the past I have learned that we have taken so much from their early discoveries. I agreed with the claim that Ancient Greece is humanities' childhood because it really was the foundation of science, math, architecture, war, etc... I don't think I've ever studied a civilization before the Greeks. I see how we take columns from Greek architecture, we get basic geometry and math from Greek scholars, we have developed the calendar from the Greeks, we have even formed our government on some Greek examples. Many scholars and philosophers have come from Greek times because it was one of the first times people had time to question their surroundings. I find it interesting how the video said Greeks were thinking about geometry while their slaves did the work, but in Rome, they were actually less technologically inclined because of the numbers of slaves they had.

We need to look back to go forward in the world because learning from the past can prevent more mistakes. Using past failures as references can make future decisions easier by making better choices.

We definitely need to look at the past to look into the future because so many things that are normal are from ancient Greece, like some words we use and the layout of cities or even how some important buildings look. The White House has pillars like Greece because it is an important building.

All that the video can show are the ruins, and what has survived through the thousands of years, but through those ruins of buildings is how the Greeks influenced so much of technology in history. Word roots and suffixes, architecture, math, philosophy, and astronomy are all influenced by what the Greeks did with them thousands of years ago. Observing the stars, creating buildings, coming up with roots and words were all done back then and have been picked up and advanced in later generations.

I think that if the Ancient Greeks hadn't invented things such as math, architecture, philosophy, and drama we would be nowhere close to where we are today.

We definitely need to look to the past because as time goes on and there is more operation between us and the ancient greeks, it will seem more distant and mysterious. Through this sense of mystery we could definitely find answers to modern problems that have been forgotten in the thousands of years since the greeks created the solution.

I strongly believe that we need to look at the past in order to move forward. If we don't learn from those who came before us, we are bound to make the same mistakes. I think there is a reason why certain civilizations slowly went away, and if we don't acknowledge what did and didn't work for them, we are just stupid because we are ignoring information and will be left grasping to find something that works for us.

I don't think if the Greeks did not invent math, architecture, philosophy and drama, that we wouldn't have those things, I think they'd just be incredibly different from what it is now.

I am finnally taking to account how many different things we can connect from our modern day world to the ancient greek world like columns and structures. The greeks had invented so many different things that have helped us progress as a civilization over time.

I find it insane just how much inspiration we've taken from the Greeks. Ancient Greece is one of the very first footholds of the civilized world we see today, and the fact that so much of what we do today has been derived from the way they lived and operated really says something about how extremely knowledgeable and strong the ancient Greek civilizations really were. I've always known that the Greeks were the creators of a lot of things we have in modern day, but I wasn't aware that it was this much.

I think that we don't have to look back to look forward because there are so many things that we know now that could've been wrong in the time of ancient Greece. I still think we can use some of those things but we should make our own future and not have to look back and see what the ancient Greeks did.

I think that the ancient greeks have made so many advancements in history like the calendar, their architecture and so much more, that nowadays all that stuff symbolizes importance that we think of it as some magical thing that was created thousands of years ago.

After watching the video "Source: Know Thyself" I realized that people can interpret greek mythology in many different ways. They also do different things about it, like research it more or build museums and different buildings that is based on it.
