Is It The Power Of Love?

“Men seemed to have failed completely to comprehend the power of Eros, for if they did comprehend it, they would have built to him the greatest altars and temples and offered the greatest sacrifices, whereas he is given none of these honors, although he should have them most of all…”

End of the day Eros has failed with love but sometimes makes it work like in the Psyche story

Yes, men have failed Eros but Eros in his own ways have failed everyone else.

Men had failed Eros, or did Eros fail to impact men? either way he went un-noticed and other gods were in the spotlight.

Eros can impact many people yet when put to face the truth about love not many people fight and try when things get hard in a relationship. In the myth about cupid, Psyche lost cupid's trust and fought to stay with him because she truly loved him. Many people just give up on a relationship before they choose to fight for it.

Men failed to comprehend the power of Eros. Most went to Aphrodite. if they had comprehended his power, there might have been more happy endings.

Men don't understand the power that Eros has. They don't understand the effect that love has on people. In the myth of Cupid and Psyche, Eros was present in the fact the couple loved each other unconditionally, at the end at least. However, the couple had an issue with trust at first and that started to mean that there was less room for love in their relationship. But Psyche really loved Cupid and went to great lengths to prove that.

I think people fail to understand how strong love can actually be, but from all the stories that we have read as the reader we can understand love a little bit more. I think when love has its limits things never go well so the fact that men cant understand the level of importance of love, it can cause a lot of problems.

I think that the myths we have read don't support this quotation. Just because men did not build him fortresses and temples, doesn't mean they did not comprehend Eros power. Eros is very powerful and impacts many. Love is very important in each of the myths and it can drive someone to do anything for it.

I believe that this quote doesn't support the myths we have read. The proof of love doesn't lie within the gifts and materialistic aspects of a relationship. The neglect of completing a task to honor Eros doesn't mean they don't value or respect him.

Eros may not be getting the recognition he deserves, but what he will accomplish in the future will blow the rewards out of the water. Eros understood the impossible making him a true intellect.
