I think that the Odyssey is great for the therapy with the amount of slyness and being extremely clever makes people think of that and just the piece of literature itself and the way it worded has showed that it has helped much of it as we can see through the audio clip.

The Odyssey was a great way for people to cope from war. Many people who return from war love these books such as the Odyssey and Iliad. They can relate. Homer shows Odyssey struggle with the horrors of his long journey because no one has ever seen what he's seen. Odyssey

I believe that like with any text, the Odyssey was used as entertainment during the war, and related to a large group of people. They spoke of the way that there are echoes that are shown from this book, dating back all the way from ancient Greece. So they all end up believing the same things, and following the same paths and ways of living after such a loss and war.

Listening to the audio, I see that these ancient writings are still relevant and very important still today. It might not be used the same way as it was in ancient Greece, but it has been adapted to modern day use. I see The Odyssey as a very flexible and adaptive piece of writing that can always find some place in society.

In this audio clip the discuss how the Odyssey can help solders with PTSD. They can relate with the tale and journey of the Odyssey. They can also relate with the thought of the hero's journey. Reading and discussing these books helps them escape and forget about their other problems and stress.

I think that the Odyssey is timeless. Like the second podcast said Homer wrote The Odyssey where Odysseus is dealing with the question of "How is anyone going to feel the way I feel?" This is like many people in modern day where people that go to war are asking the same question, and they think that they are all alone.

After hearing this podcast I think that the Odyssey as is used in the therapy really shows everyone some struggles that are reflected in the story and that makes us relate to it in a personal way which helps with understanding.

I feel like I now realize how important his text is. It's not just a school book like most. This book can apply to real life and in this case a very intense situation. It has the potential to allow people to understand the situation that soldiers go through a little bi better.

It's interesting that the use of "The Odyssey" was used in counseling to comfort these people by giving examples of leadership of the gods and leaders throughout the story when soldiers are lost and obstacles are put in their way. These veterans were able to feel similarities to the whole story of "The Odyssey" which could help their disorders that they gained from experiencing the pains and mental toughness of war. In both stories, it seems like the people around those who were affected don't listen as well as they should about their stories and problems.

I never would have thought that the Odyssey could help with PTSD, but when you actually think about it, it would help a lot. Hearing the stories of soldiers that were killed or injured, but have been remembered for their efforts I feel would make them feel like they didn't waste their lives by just going to Vietnam and getting hurt when most of the men didn't want to go anyways. The Odyssey has a lot of stories that show that soldiers are smart and helpful and important, and that is what vets need to hear.

The Odyssey has many uses not just in literature but in the medical field and the field of understanding. This thing can be related to in many different ways. This can show that people are and aren't able to listen when people may or may not need help.

The Odyssey connects to the people today. The Psychiatrist counsels Vets by telling them stories of the struggles that Odysseus had to overcome and they really liked to hear those stories. It helped the soldiers keep fighting in battle since they could connect with Odysseus and his men in some situations.

I think it is cool to use stories of soldiers and warriors who are more relatable than most regular people. SOilder have had struggles for many years after coming home from a conflict. The use of literature is a good idea for warriors to readjust.

I think that many people can connect to the Odyssey today especially veterans. In a way they've had their own odyssey. The can connect to Odysseys and his feelings that is why so many vets like to hear about it.

It makes sense to use the odyssey for therapy. The odyssey tells tales of these great warriors who have fought and won through these giant tasks. Veterans can relate to this with all that they have been through, they can feel comfort when what these warriors have done is being celebrated through the ages.

The odyssey is a great way people can cope with war. It shares the stories of warriors through the tasks they are supposed to accomplish. It gives the people confidence, if a human can do this so can our soldiers.

I think the odyssey is a good way for others to connect and relate to each other, just because everyone goes through their own odyssey, especially soldiers. It gives them hope and faith as they go through war.

The Odyssey was a timeless tale of war. It makes sense that it could be used for PTSD therapy. One common thing in a lot of Therapy are people trying to take a little factor from the world that caused the stress, and implement it in their daily lives. The Odyssey can make a vet feel more at home, in a strange way.
