Yes I think there is a mythology to Star Wars, there are many connections between the two. The heroic code seems to be connected through both Myth and Star wars. Star wars used many ideas that Greek myth gave us, the hero's were favored and usually are in any film or book, but Star Wars especially seems to favor hero's. Star Wars hero's also sort of follow Heroic code, they are prideful like hero's and take responsibility. They also make mistakes like many of the great Greek hero's. This shows that Greek myth is everywhere even today.

I believe there is some mythology in Star Wars. In Star Wars it goes through it explains the unexplainable, in the story they go through there are many family issues like there is in Mythology, also in each of them there is their own myth, not relating to Greek mythology Star wars has its own myths to deal with as well.

When I look at Star Wars I see a lot of subtle mythology elements. The quest for good and other forces that help you on this quest. Also, both of these follow the same heroic plot line. There is also a connection between the force and Greek gods. They are both things that the characters heavily rely on and at times struggle with. Another common element is the different beings encountered. In Star Wars there are many different life forms and this is seen as normal. The same can be said about Greek Mythology as heroes encounter centaurs, monsters, and sirens. In looking at some of the Star Wars scenery we can also notice that it draws on Greek architecture and at times looks very Greek. Star Wars is in some ways a modern myth that combines sci-fi and mythology to bring mythology into the present.
One of the things that I will take away from this class is that the past is everywhere and is constantly shaping the present. Greek Mythology, as old as it is is still effecting us and most people know about the stories. Through this I realize the power of stories and literature can stick with generation after generation. It is fascinating to take the knowledge gained from this class to other classes and see connections and the bigger impact that the Greeks have had on our society.

I see mythology in star wars because the show is a tale/fable that reflects our culture. It also shows powers greater then humans but still has feelings and emotions between the characters regardless if they are human or not. The tale teaches lessons and grasps the eye of children living in the generations of Star Wars.

Star Wars absolutely contains mythology. Although it does not contain Greek Mythology, it has its own outline. Myths are stories containing historical events with a twist and Star Wars is a perfect example. It has powers much higher than the human race that also explain how and why certain events occurred/occur.

Star Wars mirrors Greek mythology most obviously with the theme of generational conflict. This is seen when Luke fights his father Darth Vader in Star Wars and when Zeus overthrows his father Cronus in the Greek myths. Both of these also have supernatural elements with certain gods wielding certain powers over nature and the Jedi and Sith wielding the force to manipulate the world around them.

One thing I will take away from this class is that almost anything can be related back to the original Greek myths because they are timeless and can still explain the world around us today.

I believe there is a certain mythology in Star Wars. The overall messages they convey through the spaceships zooming and the creatures battling are actually quite similar to the idea of our definition of mythology. One common similarity I have noticed between common Greek Mythology and the Star Wars series is the the overall theme of good vs. evil. Star Wars is obviously a great example of this theme because the entire story line is about the dark side vs. the light side and how they clash and merge. In Greek Mythology, there is a very similar theme with Zeus in Olympus and Hates in the underworld. Mythology is simply made up stories that have a life lesson or a life question for the receiver. In both of these stories, this theme is present.

There definitely is a mythology to Star Wars. Many of the patterns of Greek mythology are also found in the Star Wars saga. To start, the idea of pride, or hubris is prevalent in almost every Greek myth, and in the Star Wars movies. The characters are overly prideful, and focused on power, with the exception of a few (Yoda). Star Wars also builds off of generational and family conflicts, like the myths do. The power struggle seen between Zeus and Cronos is also found between Luke and Anakin in Star Wars. I might be reaching here, but there is also a connection between the gods in Greek myths and “the Force” in Star Wars. Both are a sort of supernatural occurrence that can either help or hurt people.

I will keep these, and other, patterns prevalent in Greek Mythology in the back of mind to connect to in other stories. Generational conflicts, hubris, guest/host relationship, and so many other themes are found throughout society today. You can find them in movies, TV, books, and even in everyday interactions.

Yes there is mythology in Star Wars because there are mortals and immortals. There are higher powers like yoga and Obi that pose as the Greek gods like zues. These gods help the main hero Luke go through many trials to test him and make him the ultimate Jedi warrior. There are guest host relationships like today letting Luke bunk at his house before he turns into a Jedi. I think there are many cases of mythology in Star Wars.

I believe that there is definitely a mythology to star wars. One example of the similarities between Greek Mythology and Star Wars is the use of heroes. In Greek Mythology, heroes have human characteristics, and make mistakes, and can get too cocky/confident. The same goes for the heroes in Star Wars, with Luke being the main hero, but making mistakes along the way. I will take a lot of Greek Mythology with me to my other classes. Greek Mythology is a very interesting subject, and there is a lot to learn.

Star wars definitely has an air of myths and legends, for example in the original 4 yoda and obi wan talk to Skywalker about how great and powerful his father was like he was this great mythical hero.

I believe that there is a lot of mythology in star wars. Take family for example. There is a lot of drama between Luke and Darth Vader, just aa there is tension between gods and their kin in Greek mythology. Even George Lucas mentioned that star wars draws heavily upon Greek mythology to formulate the structure of the story and the interaction between characters.

I believe that there is definitely mythology in Star Wars. Especially in the idea of the hero’s journey. Luke is helped out by another jedi, Ben Kenobi, who is essentially a supernatural force. Yoda also does the same for him. This is a big concept in the idea of the hero’s journey. I think also that the idea he goes from a zero to a hero also shows a big idea of how Star Wars incorporates the idea of mythology.

I believe that there are many elements in Star Wars that have mythological ideas. There are the great warriors on either side that seem unbeatable. There are prophesies that say what will happen in the future of a character. There are "forces" around the heroes that could represent the gods around the Greek heroes. There is an unknown force in the universe in star wars and in mythology the unknown is attempted to be explained.

Star Wars most definitely has mythology that is involved in it. One example of mythology in Star Wars is the heroic code. Ideas like Hubris and others play a big role in the plot line and characters of Star Wars. The story line is based off of generations, and families just like Greek myths are. It has family problems like Skywalker and Vader, that relate to the same family problems in Greek myths like Zeus and Cronus. Like greek myths during there time, Star Wars is telling a myth in new ways, and relating it to the real world we live in today.

I do believe that there is a correlation between Greek mythology and Star Wars. Many of the characters in Star Wars have issues with each other, like the Gods in myths. The Heroic Code also seems to apply heavily to Star Wars. Star Wars also portrays charactersstarting as nothing and becoming great Herod, just like the whole "zero to hero" concept in Hercules.

There are absolutely elements of mythology in Star Wars. There are mentors in Star Wars, which is a lot like having a god or goddess help someone on their hero's journey. The guest-host relationship pops up a lot in Star Wars, and people skills are always useful in these situations. The idea of making Star Wars to explain faith is kind of like creating myths to explain nature. There are villains to be fought against, and prophesy to be filled.
I will take with me the ability to dissect a story and find more meaning, along with the general knowledge I have gained through this class to reference in day to day life.

I think Greek Mythology is in everything. There are questions about things that are easy to answer but there are also questions that are hard to answer and that is what Greek mythology does it answers the hard questions. I have never seen Star Wars but I am sure that their are hard questions that are answered in mythical ways.

In Star Wars, I think there is mythology in the sense that things are explained and there are stories passed down through the generations. They follow the idea of the force and hear stories of heroes and heroic acts. Mythology is a kind of religion I think. It gives people explanations and purposes in life and a sense of belonging. If there is something beyond us and things we can't understand, we take comfort in the idea that there are other explanations that may not be accurate but they seem logical and are accepted by so many people. I will take the idea of morals and humanity from mythology into other subjects and try to keep this idea in my mind in anything I accomplish or do in the future.

I believe there is mythology in Star Wars and that some elements are very prevalent in the movies. There are higher powers in characters like yoda who give supernatural aid to the hero so they are able to complete there quest. Luke kind of overthrows his father in the sense that he has to defeat his father to save the Galaxy and Zeus had to overthrow his father in order to save humanity. The heroic code is also seen throughout the films.

There is mythology in Star Wars. Luke Skywalker is trained by Yoda to become a hero. He is born with the power but needs to go through the hero's journey to become the best he can be. Star Wars is all about galactic warfare and space but the overall message is about family and heroic code.

I believe there are a lot of mythological connections between star wars the Greek stories. More so in the heroic qualities that the characters share. Anakin Skywalker is like Heracles. They both start of suspecting that they were destined for greater things than what they were. Anakin was much younger but he still could feel the force. After they both get the taste of power, they lust for more. Heracles wants to become a full god and join his father in Olympus, Anakin discovers how powerful the dark side is and cannot let go. Heracles was never evil like Anakin except for when Hera put the spell on him that made him kill his family. The Heroic qualities are very similar between Theseus and Chewbaca or Luke skywalker. They are more selfless warriors and more humble than a warrior like Achilles. I'm sure I will be able to find all sorts of mythology in the real world and I can't wait to explore it.

There are a lot of similarities between star wars and greek myth. One example would be that they both are a story of a hero's journey. They all go through refusals, hardships yet they earn what they worked for in the end. At the end, everyone idolizes the hero and gives the hero a credit.

Star Wars has some mythology in it but it is mostly a representation of the heroes journey Wich is an idea thought up bye Joseph Campbell Wich basically states that all myths have basically the same story line so in a way Greek myth is Star Wars.

Star Wars mythology is really similar to Greek mythology. In ways, they both aren't real, but the stories embedded represent society in their respective times. Star Wars has future stuff, witty commentary, and timely references that reflect today's society, while in Greek mythology, the world that is created reflects a wonder that the people had, based on how little they knew about the world around them, the stories they created reflected their character.

Star wars had some mythology in it mainly with upper forces and upper influences that were great and mighty. Most of star wars was just about the hero and their journey against the evil forces in the world/galaxy.

Star Wars is a great example of mythology. There are many aspects of mythology that pertain to star wars, like the heroic code which all of the Jedi live to uphold, as well as hubris. There is also aspects of the guest host relationship when someone is meeting an enemy or a stranger.
