After thinking in depth about what makes a hero a hero I would say that Perseus was more heroic. I would say this because he was able to slay Medusa with swift, cunning movements. He ventured all over to locate where Medusa was, to find equipment to defeat her, and to finally slay the beast. He had the courage to kill Medusa, after all how many people today would kill a modern day monster. He also rescued Andromeda from the sea monster. Overall Perseus was a noble, just individual who did great deeds. This is already more than enough evidence as to why Perseus was more heroic than Jason, but on top of all this Perseus was also born of a god and gained glory from the feats he accomplished.

Perseus is more heroic because he showed heroic traits of a true Greek. Perseus went on a quest in order to prove to Polydectes that he could give him a gift greater than all the wedding presents that would be taken to the wedding. Perseus also received help from the Gods only when he was in despair unlike Jason who got help from heros during the quest. Perseus showed his true hero by being the only hero, besides Hermes and Hera, who proved that he could kill Medusa. Perseus was also allowed the brother to rule the land where he lived instead of himself, he was selfless. The selflessness was a true accomplishment which showed the real hero in Perseus.

After reading both stories I can confidently say that Perseus was more heroic than Jason and I find that the answer is blatantly shown within the sheer make up of each hero. Jason himself wasn't by Greek standards heroic, he was just a great facilitator of companionship and had a keen eye for raw and unheralded talent, thus how he created the Argonauts. Whereas, Perseus was thrown right into the fray of heroism, as his call to action came when Polydectes tried to woo his mother Danae and Perseus wasn't having it. Perseus was less than thrilled with that of Polydectes character, so when given the task to slay the only mortal of the Gorgons Medusa, though not the best "candidate" for the task, he threw himself wholeheartedly into the task.Perseus's identity was on the line and he stepped up and passed the test with flying colors. Though Jason is a great leader and fisher of men it comes down to the very foundation, Jason created a great team in the Argonauts and Perseus himself was heroic.

Perseus is more heroic than Jason. He ventures off to find a horrific beast, Medusa, and slays her. He does this to save his loved one. Compared to what Jason did, this is more heroic, risking his life trying to kill this beast, but first has to find all the right weapons and such. His journey is dangerous, but he is heroic enough to complete his quest.

I think out of our two heroes, Perseus appears to be more heroic than Jason. Jason created his warrior society, however he did not partake in the warrior society during his quest. Other heroes like Medea had to pick up his slack. Perseus in himself was heroic. He was defending his mother's honor as well as the prize of Medusa's head. In the end, protecting his mother most likely made him feel worthy. Because Perseus had the desire to protect his mother's honor, and Jason didn't do much heroic adventuring in and of himself, I would say that Perseus is more heroic than Jason.

Upon reading the text I think that Perseus was the more heroic man out of the two. He had a lot of help from out side sources but he listened to them and defeated Medusa. That takes courage to take other peoples advise because often we think we can do it on our own.He made many selfless acts through out the story. Truly the Gods were in his favor because they knew he could do it, becoming a true hero.

After reading both stories I feel Perseus is more heroic of a true greek he went on a quest in order to prove that he could give all the gifts and the wedding presents, he got help from the gods when he was in depair like Jason who got help from hero's during the quest. The selflessness was a true accomplishment which proved Perseus is the real hero.

After reading both myths, I would say that Perseus is by far more heroic than Jason. Perseus was the one who was truly a hero according to Greek Standards, while Jason was simply, just talented, not necessarily a hero. Perseus shows true heroism when he is given the challenge to slay Medusa and he gave all of his strength, energy, and wisdom into the task.He had the courage and the faith to do what he felt was right. While Jason may have been a talented leader, Perseus was a true emblem of the Greek heroic code.

Between Jason and Perseus, Jason was more heroic in terms of fulfilling all the characteristic of the heroic code. Jason's whole motivation for going after the fleece is to take the power that is his. And he is willing to prove his worth and prowess my performing amazing feats. He also has a great amount of hubris and believes that his journey is more important than anything or anyone. Perseus does have some heroic element in him, like the desire to not lose face or honor. But he is also more caring about the people around him. And he also has a lot more help from the Gods then Jason does. In the end Jason embodies more elements from the heroic code but in today's modern society I would say Perseus is more of a hero.

Overall, I believe that Perseus displays more heroic qualities than Jason does. While Jason brought others together to accomplish his quest, Perseus did mostly everything on his own. Perseus was also the son of Zeus, making him stronger and more cunning than Jason. On top of killing Medusa, Perseus also slayed the sea monster and saved Andromeda. Whatever situation he was put in, he always came out victorious.

I would argue that Jason is more heroic. I take this argument because he's more concernd about the ultimite goal so he takes a lot of help. And although Jason makes mistakes he Perseus is willing to kill and takes orders of the gods with out qustion. This is a probliome because you can see that often the gods main goal is vingence. Jason is trying to restore his kingdom and take his rightful throne where as perceous is trying to get a love back. Jason is doing the qusest for the good of his people and puts him self in danger to do so.

Perseus was more heroic than Jason in many ways, but what stands out to me is the fact that he completed his quest alone. He sought out Medusa alone, killed her himself and did so without any help save from that of the gods. I believe Perseus was definitely more conventionally heroic than Jason, who merely knew heroes when he saw them. While Jason assembled a team of heroes to complete his quest, Perseus took the initiative and elevated himself to hero status in order to complete his own quest, unassisted.

To me I think that Perseus is more heroic over Jason. He did a task that was considered by all to be impossible. True, he had help from the gods, but he was breve enough to face Medusa without even knowing the gods were to help him. "Who is the father?" is what Danae's father asks. She replies that Zeus is Perseus' father. So not only is Perseus brave, but he is also part deity. While Jason's travels truly were heroic, he had the help of other heroes, plus gods, also he wasn't part god.

Perseus was by far more heroic than Jason. He went on this quest with good intentions and only received help when he absolutely needed it. Jason, however, only succeeded the quest of the Golden Fleece by using the help of others, he didn't think for himself and how he could win the challenges he was faced with. When Perseus returned with Medusa's head and defeated Polydectes, he didn't take rule of the land, he gave the power to the man who was like a father to him, Poldectes's brother. Jason, however, used Medea, played with her emotions, then dismissed her after he took control of the land. His intentions were never good throughout the quest. Being a hero doesn't just mean winning victories and quests, it also means doing what's best for others and putting them before yourself.

After reading both stories, I've come to the conclusion that Perseus is far more heroic than Jason. Perseus killed Medusa, with one fell swoop. He also did this alone. Jason gathered up many different people to help him find a single golden fleece. Perseus also showed his showed his heroism by only receiving help from the gods when he really needed it, not like Jason, who kept on receiving their help.

Out of the two heroic stories we have heard, I would say that Perseus is more heroic than Jason. They both go on dangerous adventures to seek total reward. Jason must retreve a Golden Fleese and must pass many tests along the way to do so. Perseus must travel a long way to behead Medusa, who can turn men to stone. They both recieve help from the gods along their journey. But what I think spreades the two is honor and cause. Perseus's cause was to free his mother, but Jason's was for marraige. And in the end Jason betrays Medea, the women who basically saved him during the quest. So that's why Perseus is more heroic.

Perseus was more heroic than Jason in several ways. He did the quest out of good intentions, he did this only by himself, without the help of many others, as well as saving Andromeda

Analyzing the two mythology texts, my conclusion of who has more of the more heroic traits would have to be Perseus. The standards set by the greeks on true heroism clearly exemplifies him. Although Jason had created his own "warrior army", a thousand soldiers could not match the bravery that Perseus possessed. Jason captured the essence of raw talent, but it's what you do with those talents that matter in the end.

I think that Perseus is more heroic, I noticed many similarities in this myth to other heroic accounts and myth i have heard or read, like The Oddysee or when Nike Runs for two days straight to inform leaders in sparta. Much like these quest Perseus was on to find all the weapons needed to slay Medusa, then he did slay Madusa. Jason's mission and purpose i did not see as heroic.

Perseus is more heroic because of how he cared for others he believed that giving Polydectes the head of the gorgon Medusa would be the best wedding gift brought to the .He was cunning in killing Medusa he was able to save Andromeda from the Sea Monster. Perseus also gave the land he could have ruled to his brother he was a selfless hero who achieved many feats, unlike Jason who was not a hero he had other heroes like Theseus and Orpheus to help him on his journey to find the golden fleece which was to allow him to show tyrant king that he could no longer rule the land that Jason was heir to rule. Perseus did his heroic act to save Andromeda and he did this with aid of the gods. he ventured to find the Gorgon and when he did find her he killed her. he desired to to be noticed and to be seen as a person by accomplishing the task that no one has accomplished and killing Medusa was the ultimate task to do. so Perseus is more heroic then Jason by being selfless and it being just him than twenty heroes that Jason had to help him.

In my opinion both Perseus and Jason are great heroes, but the feats of Perseus seem to be much more powerful, courageous, and recognizable. The great hero Perseus stepped up filled with hybris and took the challenge to slay Medusa even though he knew had dangerous it was. He later decapitated Medusa's gorgon head and returned to Seriphos where his mother was threatened and abused by Polydectes, who gave Perseus the task. Perseus then showed the gorgon head to Polydectes turning him to stone.
Although Jason was the great leader of the Argonauts and obtained the Golden Fleece, Perseus' seems to be the better hero.

Personally, I believe that Jason would be the more heroic figure in Greek Mythology. Jason, though he may be more humble than Perseus, fits the mold of the heroic code better. Jason only needed the help of Hera in his quest, while Perseus needed the help of many divinities. Though Jason used humans, Perseus used divinities, which I think makes Jason more heroic. Also, Jason was focused on the greater good for everyone around him. Although both characters are heroic, I think that Jason is more heroic than Perseus.

I believe out of the two heros that Perseus is more heroic than Jason. He goes off to find a horrific beast-Medusa, and de-heads her. He does this for love. He had a harder quest and finished with less help.
