I think that the Cupid and Psyche myth's proclamation of trust within relationships should hold true for all relationships especially romantic ones; because I agree with cupid in "Love cannot live where there is no trust," relationships without trust ultimately fail. However I feel in the myth of Cupid and Psyche they never did fully lose trust in one another even as their families [for Cupid his mother Venus (Aphrodite) and for Psyche her two sisters] were trying to persuade them otherwise.

While I was reading this story I saw how much trust needs to go into a relation ship. During the story Psyche wanted to go see her sisters but her husband said, “You must not let them see you or you will bring great sorrow upon me and ruin yourself”(124) She did not trust what he had said and their sisters became envious of her and she sat in fear of the outcome. If you cannot trust someone there is just a terrible feeling which can make a person go crazy. I think this is exactly what happened to Psyche. Trust is an essential thing in a relationship and without it people become crazed which is what I got the most out of from this reading.

Trust is key in anyrelationship no matter how big or small. If you do not beileve what one is saying and/or doing you cannot go on to put your full heart into the relationship. You must be sure of there actions and future actions. The sisters caused issues of trust and Pysche had trust issues which made there relationship struggle. Cupid in Pysche couldnt have trust and when love is forced upoon them like with the arrows trust may not be there but love is forced to exsist.

I think that the cupid and psyche myth is important because it has a lesson for all relationships which is that as it says "love cannot live where there is no trust." This is saying that there is no chance for love if there is no trust and in the end a relationship with no trust will end in failure.

I think that the Cupid and Psyche myth perfectly demonstrates the essential aspect of trust. It illustrated that trust can be very easily handed out and easily taken advantage of. I believe that trust should be put before anything else in a friendship or relationship. Without it, there would be no foundation to build on in a relationship.

I believe that trust in relationships is the key, just as Cupid believes, and when someone dishonors that trust you really start to wonder if love and truth were even there in the first place. Cupid was heartbroken after Psyche betrayed his word. I also believe that if there really was love there and one made a mistake and broke the trust, that love can mend it and let you have a second chance at building the trust back up. I also can understand that Psyche wanted to see what he really looked like. How would you like to marry someone and only see them in the dark and never now who really they are? My curiosity would get the best of me and unfortunately break that trust, but I would do anything to have them back again. As it said in the myth, "Love and the Soul (for that is was Psyche means) had sought and, after sore trials, found each other; and that union could never be broken."

I think that both trust and love in a relationship are a key to success. But I also feel they are two different things. Both have their pros and cons, but together they work together perfectly. Trust can be attributed to about any type of relationship, whether is between a family, a group of friends, or your spouse/lover. However trust can be very crazy, because at some point trust can backfire, because when trust is broken it is very difficult to repair. Which is where love comes in. Love has many definitions, but my favorite is the idea that love is the ability to be completely comfortable around other people as yourself, and live in your true natural desire. But the con to love is it can carry a blind sight, for during love you can turn a blind eye to many things in a relationship that you wouldn't normally overlook in a smaller relationship, but when trust has been broken, love's blind eye can mend the pain.

I too agree with Cupid’s statement that “Love cannot exist where there is no trust. “ It seems logical because if you’re truly in love with someone, all you think about is your relationship with them. But, if you don’t trust them, then instead of thinking about them, you are wondering if they’ll steal your tip when leaving the restaurant that you just ate at. It also shows how there may be an illusion of love, where one may think they are in love, but in reality, aren’t.

The myth says, "Love cannot live where there is no trust."(Hamilton 129)I agree with this quote that you must trust the person that you love and if there is no trust then there is no love. I think that the trust can be regained and is not lost forever if the person is willing to make sacrifices in order to regain the trust. As in the myth Psyche she must complete some extraordinary tasks to regain the trust "you are so plain and ill-favored a girl that you will never be able to get you a lover except by the most diligent and painful service."(Hamilton 130)After doing all the somewhat impossible tasks, Psyche has regained trust from Cupid and Venus and they are alowed to be together.

Trust does play an important part in the plot of Cupid And Psyche. Through not having trust there was conflict and problems. When there was trust the story ended happily, compared to other myths that don’t have such a happily ever after. So trust in the end made everything right, like the last paragraph says, “So all came to a most happy end. Love and the soul (for that is what Psyche means) had sought and, after sore trials, found each other; and that union could never be broken.”

There cannot be love without trust- Cupid, the god of love, said it himself. If two people say they love one another, but do not trust each other, they are lying. To love someone is to give them your secrets, your attention, an important part of your life. To do that, there must be trust.

I believe Cupid really said it all, "Love can't live where there is no trust."

Trust is the basis of every relationship. Otherwise, how are you going to believe in them and support their decisions? Supporting them means you have to trust that they know what they are doing. Despite Psyche's strong curiosity for Cupid's mysterious behavior, she should have been able to trust that he was doing what was best. They had a good love, and because she failed to believe he would come through, she ended up destroying something beautiful.

I believe that sacrifices can most definitely mend a lot of the caused pain, but it will never be the original love that was first brought about. It won't be the same, and that is a burden that she must live with.

Cupid is right in the idea that without trust there is no love. Any relationship not built on trust and honesty eventually gives way to Jealously and doubt. Cupid's tale is a great example of this, for were Psyche to trust Cupid, nothing would have happened and they would have lived happily ever after. (although, they do anyway, so I guess it's a moot point.)

I think it's cool how the Greeks experienced and wrote about the same issues that we ourselves experience today like trust and relationships. The story of Cupid and Psyche shows how a major part of relationships depend on trust as you can see from the part where Psyche must look upon the man who is caring for her. "He started awake: he saw the light and knew her faithlessness, and without a word he fled from her." (129) I think this also shows how people have not changed over time. It is stereotyped that people sometimes get into relationships just based on how they look. In the story, even though the man she couldn't see provided her with a palace and riches, she still was unsatisfied because she didn't know what he looked like.

I personally believe that trust is an essential in ever relationship and without it will fall apart. Think that the Cupid and Psyche myth demonstrates the essential aspect of trust. It shows that trust can be very easily given and easily taken advantage of. I believe that trust should be the most important quality of a relationship. A Relationship Without it, there would be no base to build on in a relationship. This applies to ever relationship with anyone even animals.

The poems proclamation of trust is embodied by the quotation "Love can not exist where there is not trust" so the poem proclaims that love is a responsibility to not only trust in the other person in the relationship but trust in yourself enough that you can rely on other people.

When I read Cupid and Psyche I could not stop thinking about the saying ,"curiosity killed the cat" and in this story it has a similar meaning the punishment for looking upon Cupid is that he can no longer be with Psyche. therfore she has to do many arduous things to make it up to him.

I think that Cupid and Psyche are monuments to love, trust and courage. Cupid loves Psyche but cannot trust her after looking upon himwhen she was told not to. But Psyche shows her love and courage to get Cupid back.

Trust is super important in relationships, without it the relationship has no value. When Cupid thought he couldn't trust Psyche, he left her hurt and saddened. Cupid had no trust in Psche, so therefore no relationship with her. I think that this is evident in every relationship concerning trust.
