Perseus is, in my opinion, a much more heroic character than Jason. Perseus is said to have had, "Two great gods watching over him." This gives Perseus a kind of divine and supernatural nature that Jason simply does not possess. Furthermore, Jason seems to use a dark evil to help him accomplish his tasks such as when he, "...prayed to the hounds of Hades..." It seems that Perseus uses a much more genuine and moral magic to accomplish his tasks. I also happen to believe that Jason is more selfish than Perseus, therefore, making him less heroic. Jason focuses only on becoming king, while Perseus goes about saving the ones he loves, such as when he saves his mother from the clutches of an evil king. Perseus is the more heroic of the two.

I believe that Perseus, is the more heroic character because. Perseus is the one who used his powers to help more of maned kind and not so much himself. for example Jason goes and finds the Golden Fleece just for himself he really is the only one who benefits from it. Also, when it comes to Perseus he defeats Medusa for not only him but for everyone who was being tortured by her.

Personally I think that Perseus was more heroic. He did things that were intended to help and show kindness toward others. When he went to go get medusas head it benefited others and not just him. “….declared he would give a present better than any present there. He would go off and kill Medusa and bring back her head as a gift.” When saying this Perseus exhibits to of the heroic characteristics pride and to feel worthy like he did something that should be honored. Where as Jason went after the Golden Fleece more for himself. Which shows that he is more selfish that Pereus.

I personally believe that Jason is more heroic. I think this because he fights for his rightful rule over his kingdom. He fights for justice. I think fighting for what you believe in is heroic all by its self. Though his journey is made with other great, heroic men, he is still a hero. When he has to yoke two frightful bulls and casts the teeth of a dragon into the furrows, he shows his strength and intelligence. He willing takes this challenge knowing that it should be impossible. He does all of this to claim his throne and get rid of his wicked cousin who is a cruel ruler. All in all, he's helping the well being of the people of his kingdom which is truly heroic.

When comparing the myths about Persius and Jason I've realized that Perseis is the more heroic charater over all. Givin powers not granted to others such as the sword from Hades he uses his advantage to defeat his foe.Persius has a strong desire to be recognized as well being watched over by two of the gods.Finnaly he also exibits extreme confidence and mild hubris as illustrated in the quote, "...declared he would give a present better than any present there. He would go off and kill Medusa and bring back her head as a gift".

I think Perseus is much more heroic because like Adam said, he had "Two great gods watching over him." Someone who has a god watching over him is bound or even destined to be heroic. I think that this gives him an edge on the competition and will put him ahead the rest of the so called "heros". He is also less selfish and therefore less susceptable to the small desires in life. To me this is a very heroic trait.

In my opinion I believe that Perseus is more heroic because he would rather do the better deed then being full of himself and just worry about things that relvolve around him. Jason on the other hand is more evil and thinks about himself he wants to accomplish his tasks that he has set out. Perseus is more pure and heart - warming he uses more moral magic to succede his tasks.

In my humble opinion, Perseus is more of a hero and I would even go so far as to say that Jason resembles a villin. My reasons to this derive from my belief that heroes are people that make saccrifice for a cause, idea, or concept. Whereas, a villin makes effort for materialistic posessions or selfish gain. I see Jason acting upon lust for power when Perseus acts upon saving others he loves.

Although both Jason and Perseus strive for prizes/fame, I think that Perseus is more the true hero. He looks for the greater good of the people and not just himself. Jason's general accomplishments are great but they more for himself(king, fleece) than the people. Perseus on the other hand works works towards goals beyond just himself (mother, save people from medusa).

In my opinion, Perseus is more heroic than Jason. They definately both have hubris, but Jason is more self centered, making all of his goals solely about himself, while Perseus is trying to actually better the lives of others. The things he did, like defeating Medusa, helps other people, not just himself.

I think that Perseus is more heroic than Jason according to the heroic code. Perseus has a desire to be recognized as the rightful king of his country and goes on a quest to prove it. He does not want to lose face or honor to his cousin. He also goes on a quest for a prize and fame.

I think that Perseus is more heroic than Jason because he cares about the world around him and not all about himself. Jason is more concerned in what the benefit is for him rather than the world around him. Jason is obsessed on becoming a king rather than what he can do with his new power to help the people he cares about. Perseus defends the people who are getting tortured and beaten. Perseus is a more heoric hero than Jason.

I believe that Jason is more heroic. Perseus may seem more noble by his intentions, he doesn't seem to do his heroic deeds for selfish reasons, but according to the heroic code heroes want to persue excellence and the spoils. Jason seems to meet all the requirements of the heroic code. Even though he does bad things like ditch Medea, there is nothing in the heroic code that says a hero must stay by his woman. So while he seems to be more selfish than Perseus, I think he meets the heroic code provided by us better than perseus.

I also believe that Perseus embodies more of the heroic elements, though both share many. Both are prideful and are pursuing a prize, but Jason's is to secure his own kingship while Perseus is to save his mother from Polydectes. Also, Perseus recieves alot of help from the gods (divine) while Jason resorts to Medea's help, which is her dark witchcraft and her unnatural passion for him.

In my opinion personally Perseus is much more heroic. Both venture out on epic adventures for prize and fame, but the difference is how they go about their journey. Perseus is more heroic because Jason shows signs of selfishness and reliablity on the gods when times get rough. Two very bad traits of a true hero.

I believe that Perseus is by far a better, more believable hero than Jason. Perseus seems to start his quest for heroic reasons while Jason just goes on his to become a hero. On their quests Perseus appears to face a much harder and more heroic journey. Although I do believe both Perseus and Jason are heros, Perseus displays much more heroic qualities before, during, and after his quest.

Perseus is deinately more of a hero than Jason is. Perseus faced way more difficult challenges than Jason did. He acted for the good of mankind, not selfishly. All Jason did was embark on a quest, a quest which, if he should succeed, would honor him and make him powerful and rich. Jason's reasons for being heroic were selfish. While Perseus was still fairly self-absorbed, he still thought of others.

I believe that Jason is more heroic because he went through all those trials for himself and other people unlike Perseus who did just for himself. Also Jason had to complete much harder task than persues. Also Persueus had help from 2 gods.

I believe that Perseus is more heroic than jason. For one Jason is mainly focused on himself not others he loves. An example is the golden fleece, he got it to help himself try and become king. persus did his deads for the ones he loved. like defeating medusa for all the people who were being hurt by her.so in my opinion jason is much less of a hero then Perseus.

I think that both show characetristics that attribute to being a hero. Both our heros have a great amount of pride(hubris) which leads them to belive they can accomplish their tasks that have been laid out for them. Though Perseus almost appears to have an ignorance about the real meaning of his task he still appeals to be more of the hero than Jason. Even though Jason is pursuing his rightfull throne he is still looking for the betterment of himself where as perseus is looking to gain favor in the eye of his soon to be father-in-law. It eventually turns out to be him fighting to save his own mother.

I believe Perseus is a better example of a hero than Jason. Perseus determines to go defeat Medusa because she was a threat to everyone who saw her. Perseus did not want friends and family and other residents of Greece to be affected by Medusa's hideous power. Jason on the other hand, retrieves the golden fleece for his benefit of being king. With those two things in mind, Perseus displays a better hero.

Jason, Perseus, and Theseus all obtain hero-like qualities. I don't believe Theseus is more Heroic than Jason and Perseus.Theseus seems to be more of a selfish hero all he cares about is himself. On the other hand Perseus and Jason try to do good for the other people. But they all want to please the gods and they all show qualtites of a hero.

Jason assembled a great group of heroes, known as the Argonauts after their ship, the Argo. The group of heroes included the Boreads (sons of Boreas, the North Wind) who could fly, Heracles, Philoctetes, Peleus, Telamon, Orpheus, Castor and Pollux, Atalanta, and Euphemus.

Perseus on the other hand has nothing.

Jason can do it all.
